Friday, January 30th has been referred to as a "best day ever" due to the multiple events we got to celebrate! In addition to a student birthday, we celebrated our 100th Day of School AND our Boosterthon Fun Run! We began preparing for the 100th day of school by counting daily in our math lessons! Two of our activities included counting Cheerios in ten frames by 10's and by 1's and making our Fruit Loop Necklaces, again counting to 100 by 10's and 1's.
When the 100th finally arrived, we were ready! We put the finishing touches on our "100 Days Smarter" crowns (decorated with 10 objects in 10 different colors), donned our 100th Day capes (filled with 100 special things) and were prepared to celebrate! We began our day with a tour around the school to show off our capes and then returned to our classroom to make our 100th Day trail mix (with 10 pieces of 10 different foods). Students also wrote what they would do if they had $100.00!
Next, it was time for our Boosterthon Fun Run! We traded our capes for our Fun Run shirts, and set off for the big event! It was a great time and I am SO proud of all of our students and the hard work and effort they put forth!! Check your child's shirt to see how many laps they accomplished!!
We ended our day with a relaxing lunch and using an app called "Aging Booth" to predict what we would look like when we are 100 years old! We are using the pictures in a special writing activity - check it out next time you visit our class!! Thank you for all of your support over the last week!
