A peek at our week! September 8-11, 2015

We had a wonderful week last week!  We are continuing to work on learning the names of our classmates and practicing writing our letters with our name cycle!  We should finish our name cycle next week and everyone should have received a keepsake name book created by our class!  In math we continued to work with numbers.  We practice counting out a specific amount of items, recognizing numbers to 10, and writing numbers to 10!  We also learned a few new number games.  Within our IB Unit, we began looking at our 5 seneses and how we use them to interact with the world.  Last week we focused on the sense of sight.  We used our eyes  to see things, specifically the characters in the book Brown Bear, Brown Bear.  Students enjoyed sequencing the story with an interactive read aloud and later using our eyes to help us read text in our Brown Bear ermergent reader.

It was also a week for sickness in our classroom!  Please encourage your students to cough/sneeze in their elbow instead of their hands (to prevent the spread of germs), keep students home if they are throwing up or running a fever, and always remember to send in a note from home OR the doctor if they miss a day of school.
