First, we are SO proud of how much our students have grown since our last report card! This is a combination of what we are doing in class and what you are reviewing at home. While it is difficult for students to learn when they are not here, it is also difficult to learn when we share our germs. Please make sure students are fever/nausea free for 24 hours before returning to school and send in a note/medical excuse for the front office. We want everyone healthy and at school learning each day!!
On March 15, we were excited to celebrate 50's day at CCE! This helped us celebrate that we have 50 days left to learn before we go to 1st grade! We discussed how important it is to come to school ready to learn each day. During our 50's day, students dressed in a 50's style if they wanted to, we discussed past and present and looked at items and how they have changed, we learned a few 50's dances, and we had classic Coke floats for snack! It was a very fun day!
On March 16, we had a visit from the Humane Society! They visited to teach a lesson on animal needs. We looked at a puppy and all the things he needs to survive. Students were able to sort items, do a mama/baby matching game, and had the opportunity to meet a real puppy! This was a great lesson and helped us see that all living things have similar needs.
We also had a visit from the Greer Rotary Club! They visited CCE on Friday, March 24 for a tree planting. All of our K5 classes were invited outside to see where they tree would be planted, as well as learn about the planting process and listen to a brief speaker. We are very excited about our new Dogwood tree in our carline area! They will return to CCE with a water safety program for our K5 students in April.
