Meet Ms. Couch

My name is Anna Couch and this is my 15th year teaching with Greenville County Schools.  I am excited to begin my 5th year in K5 at Chandler Creek!  I was honored to be chosen as the 2016-17 PTA Teacher of the Year for Chandler Creek.   I began teaching in Greenville County after graduating from Presbyterian College (in Clinton, SC) in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) in Early Childhood Education. I received my Master of Education degree (M.Ed.) in Early Childhood Education in 2009 from University of South Carolina - Upstate.  I am currently working towards a second M.Ed. degree in Literacy from Clemson University, which will be completed in May 2020.  I am highly qualified in Early Childhood Education.  I enjoy reading, summer pool days, snowy winter days, traveling, watching football (Gooo Gamecocks!), and spending time with friends and family.

My Philosophy: I believe families are an important part of learning.  Support, encouragement, and enthusiasm for learning are important for students to see at home as well as in the classroom.   I believe every child should receive a quality education in which they will learn and be encouraged to continue learning.  Children are capable of more than we realize and should be continually presented with new challenges.  I believe how you achieve a goal is just as important as achieving it.  Young children have a unique view of life and can teach me as much as I teach them.
